Retrying failed messages

When a message fails to deliver, you can retry sending it directly from the Messages list without needing to recreate the message.

Prerequisites

Log in to Symba Portal with a user account that is authorized to retry messages.

Steps

  • In the navigation menu, click "Messages"
  • Locate the failed message in the list. You can use the Status filter and select "Failed" to narrow the results
  • Click the retry retry button in the message row
  • The message is immediately resubmitted to the messaging provider
  • The status updates in the row once the retry attempt completes

After retrying

The message status updates based on the retry outcome:

  • Sent: The message was successfully submitted to the provider
  • Delivered: The provider confirmed delivery to the recipient
  • Failed: The retry attempt also failed. Check the status tooltip for the error details

Tips

  • Only messages with a "Failed" status can be retried
  • The retry uses the same recipient, content, and provider as the original message
  • If a message repeatedly fails, check the error details in the status tooltip and verify that the messaging integration is correctly configured
