The Symba USSD emulator allows authorized staff to test the configured Symba USSD journey in the staging environment without a physical mobile phone or provider connection.

Prerequisites

Log in to Symba Portal in the staging environment with a user account that is authorized to emulate Symba USSD.

Accessing the emulator

• In Symba Portal, open "Symba USSD"
• Select "Emulator"

The emulator displays a session simulator that behaves like the configured mobile phone interface. Client security codes are managed separately from the emulator.

Using the session simulator

• Enter a client's phone number
• Click "Start New Session"
• Enter menu responses as the client would on a mobile phone
• Enter the client's 6-digit security code when prompted
• Test the configured registration, application, account, payment, and agent services

Production and staging

• Staging: The Symba USSD emulator is available for testing
• Production: Clients dial the organization's live service code; the emulator is not available
