Collecting client charges

Collect payment for charges from within Symba Microbanking. The collection process opens Symba Payments in a new tab to complete the transaction.

Prerequisites

Log in to Symba Microbanking with a user account that has permission to collect client charges.

The client must have pending charges on their account.

Steps

  • Open the client account with charges to collect
  • In the "General" tab, find the "Upcoming Charges" section
  • Find the charge you want to collect in the table
  • Click the money-bag (Collect Charge) button for that charge

A new tab opens in Symba Payments with the client and charge pre-selected. You will then:

  1. Select a payment method (cash or mobile money)
  2. Review the charge details and payment amount
  3. For mobile money, enter the customer's phone number
  4. Click "Collect Now" to process the payment

Important notes

  • The "Collect Charge" button is only available for charges that have not been fully paid
  • For cash payments, you confirm receipt of physical cash
  • For mobile money payments, the customer receives a payment prompt on their phone
