Creating client charges

Add charges to a client account for services, fees, or other administrative purposes.

Prerequisites

Log in to Symba Microbanking with a user account that has permission to create client charges.

The client must be pending or active.

Steps

  • Open the client account to which you want to add a charge
  • Click the menu icon in the client header
  • Select "Charges"
  • Click the "Add Charge" button
  • Enter the charge details:
    • Charge (required) - Select the charge type from the dropdown
    • Amount (required if applicable) - Enter the charge amount
    • Due Date (required) - Select when the charge is due
  • Click "Submit"

The charge is added to the client's account and appears in the charges list with status "Pending". The client will see this charge on their account statement.

Charge types

Different charge types may be available depending on your organization's configuration:

  • Flat charges - Fixed amount charges
  • Percentage charges - Calculated as a percentage of another value
  • Administrative fees - General administrative charges
  • Service fees - Charges for specific services

Important notes

  • Charges must be collected before they are paid - creating a charge does not automatically process payment
  • Once created, charges cannot be edited - they can only be waived or collected
  • The due date determines when the charge should be paid, but does not trigger automatic collection
