Manual Search

Manual Search

Use manual search when the suggested candidates are missing or none of them are correct.

Manual search is account-first. Instead of searching directly for a transaction ID, search for the loan or savings account that the payment belongs to.

What you can search for

You can search by:

  • Loan account number
  • Savings account number
  • Account Alias Code

Only active accounts are shown.

What Symba Payments shows

After a search, Symba Payments shows matching active accounts. Under each account, it also shows open transactions that could belong to the provider event.

For inbound events, the open transaction choices are:

  • Repayments for loan accounts
  • Deposits for savings accounts

For outbound events, the open transaction choices are:

  • Disbursements for loan accounts
  • Withdrawals for savings accounts

Symba Payments only shows open transactions with a suitable status, such as pending, in progress, or failed. Transactions already matched to another provider event are not shown.

Selecting an account

For inbound provider payments, you can select the account itself.

When you select a loan account, Symba Payments creates and applies a repayment. When you select a savings account, Symba Payments creates and applies a deposit.

This is useful when the provider confirms money was received but there was no existing Symba Payments transaction yet.

Selecting an open transaction

If the account has an open transaction that matches the provider event, select that transaction instead.

Linking an open transaction connects the provider event to the existing transaction and applies the provider result to it.

Account Alias Code

An Account Alias Code is an extra account reference that can be easier to enter than a full account number. If a client pays using an Account Alias Code, search for that code in manual search. Symba Payments finds the matching loan or savings account when the alias is configured.
