Provider Events

Provider Events

A provider event is a message from a payment provider. Symba Payments keeps these events so payment activity can be reviewed and audited.

Provider events can come from many situations, such as:

  • A mobile money payment confirmation
  • A transfer result
  • A timeout message
  • A provider status update
  • A provider callback after a customer action

What an event contains

The details depend on the provider, but an event may include:

  • Provider and integration
  • Direction
  • Amount and currency
  • Phone number or customer reference
  • Provider receipt number
  • Provider request ID
  • Account reference
  • Time received
  • Suggested matches
  • Final resolution

Inbound and outbound events

Inbound events are about money coming in. Examples include repayments and deposits.

Outbound events are about money going out. Examples include disbursements and withdrawals.

The event direction helps Symba Payments show only relevant matches during review and manual search.

Audit trail

A provider event remains visible after it is resolved. This helps teams see what happened, who resolved it, and which transaction or account was selected.
