Rejecting loans

Rejecting loans

A loan application can be rejected to decline the request. This is used when an application does not meet the organization's lending criteria or when there is insufficient information to approve the loan.

Prerequisites

  • A loan application with "Submitted and pending approval" status
  • Log in to Symba Microbanking with a user account that is authorized to reject loans

Steps

  • Navigate to the loan account
  • Click the menu icon in the loan account header
  • Select "Reject"
  • Enter the rejection date
  • Optionally enter a note explaining the reason for rejection
  • Click "Submit" to reject the loan application

The loan status changes to "Rejected".

Undoing a rejection

A rejected loan application can be reinstated to "Submitted and pending approval" status:

  • Navigate to the rejected loan account
  • Click the menu icon in the loan account header
  • Select "Undo Rejection"
  • Click "Submit" to reinstate the application
