Approving loans

Loan applications must be approved before they can be disbursed to clients.

Prerequisites

  • A loan application exists with "Submitted and pending approval" status
  • Log in to Symba Microbanking with a user account that is authorized to approve loans

Steps

  • On the Home page, click on "Loan Approval"
  • Click on the account number of the loan application you want to approve
  • Review the loan application details carefully
  • Click the menu icon in the loan account header
  • Select "Approve"
  • Review and optionally adjust:
    • Approval date (defaults to today)
    • Approval amount (defaults to requested amount)
    • Disbursal date (expected disbursement date)
    • Disbursal amount (may differ from approval amount)
  • Click "Submit" to approve the loan application

The loan status changes to "Approved" and is ready for disbursement.
