Loan account alias codes are short generated references that can be assigned to loan accounts in addition to the system account number. They help staff identify loan accounts in operational workflows where a compact reference is easier to use.
The system generates each loan alias code as a unique five-digit number. Staff choose whether to generate, regenerate, or remove the alias code, but they do not type the code value themselves.
The generated alias code is saved to the loan account and displayed with the account details.
After a loan account has an alias code, the account actions menu shows:
The system checks uniqueness when it generates the code. If a generated code is already used by another loan account, it tries another code automatically.
