Savings account alias codes are short generated references that can be assigned to savings accounts in addition to the system account number. They help staff identify savings accounts in operational workflows where a compact reference is easier to use.
The system generates each savings alias code as a unique six-digit number. Staff choose whether to generate, regenerate, or remove the alias code, but they do not type the code value themselves.
The generated alias code is saved to the savings account and displayed with the account details.
After a savings account has an alias code, the account actions menu shows:
The system checks uniqueness when it generates the code. If a generated code is already used by another savings account, it tries another code automatically.
