Resetting Two-Factor Authentication

If you've lost access to your authenticator app (for example, if you got a new phone or deleted the app), you can reset your Two-Factor Authentication to set it up again with a new device.

Prerequisites

  • Access to your Symba Portal account
  • Your account must already have Two-Factor Authentication enabled
  • A smartphone or tablet with an authenticator app installed

Steps

  • Log in to Symba Portal with your username and password.
  • Enter the verification code from your authenticator app (if you still have access to it). If you don't have access to your old authenticator app, contact Symba Global Support to request an administrator reset your credentials.
  • Click your name in the top-right corner, then click Profile.
  • Click the Reset Two-Factor Authentication button.
  • Click Confirm in the dialog.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to scan the new QR code with your authenticator app.
  • Enter the 6-digit verification code from your new authenticator app.
  • Click Verify and Enable.

Your Two-Factor Authentication has been reset and is now working with your new device. You can delete the old entry from your previous authenticator app if you still have access to it.

If you cannot access your authenticator app

If you've completely lost access to your authenticator app and cannot log in:

  • Contact Symba Global Support or your organization's administrator.
  • Request that they reset your credentials.
  • You will receive an email with a temporary password.
  • Log in with your username and the temporary password.
  • Set a new password.
  • You will be prompted to set up Two-Factor Authentication again with your new device.
